File For Chapter 7 Protection

If you have no means of repaying even part of your debts, and you find yourself constantly being harassed by creditors, you may wish to file for Chapter 7 protection under federal bankruptcy laws. Filing bankruptcy places an automatic stay on collections by creditors, including collections lawsuits, wage garnishments, repossession of property, and mortgage foreclosures. This enables debtors to pursue their bankruptcy actions free of interference from creditors. After any non-exempt property of a debtor is liquidated and applied to outstanding debts, usually in order of their priority under bankruptcy laws, and all other requirements of the law are met, the debtor is entitled to a Chapter 7 discharge of his or her debts.
