I was raised as an honest, hard working man. Bankruptcy seems like a cop out. What does bankruptcy really offer? I have been working hard for 24 years until being laid off, and now we're out of options. I can't stand the thought of not accepting my debt obligations and how that will look to my two sons.
What is bankruptcy really about, and who should file bankruptcy?

Bankruptcy laws have been in place in the US since the first 13 colonies were established, and one of the most famous US Presidents, Abraham Lincoln, even filed for bankruptcy. It's not a Court protection created for deadbeats, it was created for honest, hard working people like yourself who have found themselves in a financial situation that was not planned for.
